• Adding a sub-panel to an existing main panel is around $3,000. The farther from the main panel the more expensive.
• Replacing a 200-amp main panel is about $6,000 if there is no amperage increase.
• Increasing panel amperage will start at $8,000 depending on the amperage increase and location of new panel. Costs with your utility will apply also.

Pricing Guide – Electric Generators:

• A basic electrical disconnect, where you connect your own generator to the main panel, will start at $1,500.
• A 7-9 KW generator that keeps your refrigerator, furnace and master bedroom going will start at $15,000. Factors that can affect price: Amperage needed, distance from panel, size of generator, automatic transfer switch (ATS).
• A whole home generator (KW varies) should have a $25,000 budget minimum, with the above factors included here. The biggest difference is the size of the generator.
